Economic Democracy – Fair distribution of the wealth of the nation
The neo-liberal economic path Ghana has taken, guided by the Bretton Woods institutions the World Bank and IMF, over the past many decades has created a society where a few enjoy all the luxuries while the majority wallow in abject poverty.
Mass poverty
Mass poverty levels have deepened and expanded the gap between the haves and the have-nots. About 45.6% of the population is multidimensionally poor according to the Ghana Statistical Service.
It is unsustainable to maintain a system where a few are swimming in luxury relegating the rest of the society to penury. This state of affairs is a sure recipe for disintegration.
